Responsibilities:
  • Actively seek and source new opportunities within the company's strategic direction from new and existing mining customers.  
  • Actively engage in marketing the services of the company.
  • Strategize to identify, prioritize and pursue new and existing opportunities with mining partners in NACG's market.
  • Develop business proposals and presentations to ensure NACG and the client adhere to and understand qualifications before commitments are finalized.
  • Provide leadership in Business Development in pursuit of the goals and objectives of NACG's vision, mission, strategic and business plans.
  • Keep abreast of mining industry trends to allow the Company to properly respond to the ever changing economic, technological, and business climates.
  • Maintain relationships with strategic client representatives to further NACG's position within existing client base. 
  • Aid in the development of First Nations agreements and relationships.
  • Identify, negotiate and manage relationships with partners whose objectives and product/service offerings complement NACG's short and long-term vision.
  • Monitor the assigned marketplace for new and emerging industries and business trends that affect mining. Identify potential shifts that will affect the relevant business plans and assist in preparing to take advantage of the shift.
  • Ensure coordination of activities, sharing of market/client information and efficient use of resources within new and existing business development initiatives.
  • Formulate new sales and marketing approaches or programs that will offer the profit center(s) significant profit improvement potential.
  • Contribute to the development of company profit center business plans and goals, profit plan and quarterly revenue forecasts.
  • Prepare and present monthly reports of business development initiatives and activities.
  • Develop strategies for management of client contacts regarding new work, contract negotiation, claims resolution, and future work potential. Determine client needs and assist in evaluation of company resources and capabilities in light of those needs.
  • Assist other marketing and business development personnel as necessary.
  • Develop information packages for clients focusing on key areas of interest and targeting the audience with appropriate levels of detail.
  • Ensure that adequate planning, training and information sharing is done to enable NACG’s operating companies and subsidiaries to effectively promote the entire range of construction services offered by the Group.


Qualifications:
  • Minimum five years experience related to business development.
  • Mining experience preferred.
  • Post secondary Degree, Technical Diploma or equivalent experience relating to business development.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to effectively plan and organize work.
  • Computer skills in database management, e-mail, spreadsheets and word processing.
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision and meet deadlines
  • Strong interpersonal capabilities.
  • Ability to develop and maintain business relationships through a mature, credible approach.
