Position Scope

This position is responsible for managing time and resources to ensure work/project is completed on time. As a Scheduler/Planner, you will create timetables for an entire project, determining the timing of tasks and materials needed to accomplish the project.

Responsibilities

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop the construction schedule using Primavera P6.
  • Monitor construction, design, procurement and systemwide progress during the project’s life-cycle.
  • Coordinate with construction team, subcontractors, cost estimators and quantity surveyors during the schedule development to create a realistic schedule.
  • Analyze the project’s critical path to determine risks and opportunities.
  • Generate forecast schedules and status reports as required.
  • Generate regular progress reports and advise project management team on the project’s status and risks.
  • Generate and assess cost and resource reports.
  • Coordinate with the Project Manager for cost report/control and ensure required information is properly coded and posted for Project Controls.
  • Demonstrate a proactive, timely and cost-effective approach in meeting client and project team.
  • Work with the cost department to ensure alignment with financial statements and other financial/schedule reports.
  • Negotiate with third parties to maximize the project profitability projections providing/ensuring technical knowledge.
  • Other related duties assigned.

 

Qualifications

Work Experience:

 

  • Project experience, with construction scheduling, construction management, and project controls preferred
  • Experience on multi-year heavy/civil projects is strongly preferred
  • Bachelor’s degree in Construction, Engineering, or Architecture, or in a related technical field or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • High proactivity engaging Construction Team to develop accurate and reliable schedules.
  • Demonstrate good interpersonal teamwork and communication skills.
  • Bring value to the Team with the knowledge of Power BI, Excel VBA, databases and/or automation of tasks.
  • Presentation skills required in meetings and workshops.
  • Able to read technical drawings.
  • Technical writing is an asset.
  • Primavera P6 experience is an asset but not a must.
  • Attention to detail towards thoroughness, accuracy, and consistency when accomplishing tasks.
