Position Scope

The Onboarding Coordinator (Summer Student) will assist with the coordination, execution and delivery of HR programs and activities in support of the NACG team. The successful candidate will have an interest and desire to learn aspects of HR and obtain valuable business and HR experience.

This is the perfect position for a new grad hoping to get into the HR field, and is looking for Summertime work in a collaborative team environment! 

Please note, this is a temporary contract opportunity with the contract projected to end August 31, 2026. 

Responsibilities

  • Primarily assisting with recruitment and following up on required documentation with candidates to complete the hiring process.
  • Volume on average of 30-40 calls per day including electronic communication 
  • Assist with drafting and updating HR documents and correspondence.
  • Assist with the administration of HR programs and services, including benefits.
  • Conduct HR-related research, as assigned.
  • Assist with other projects and administrative duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Completed one year of College or University in HR discipline.
  • Ability to communicate effectively, confidently and professionally.
  • Ability to take initiative, work independently, prioritize and meet tight deadlines.
  • Proficient computer skills including MS Word, Outlook, Excel and Internet.
  • Excellent organizational and multitasking skills with proven attention to detail
  • Demonstrate sound judgement and strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong team player and work ethic.
  • Ability to deliver a high-level of customer service with candidates during the recruitment process. 
  • Possesses integrity and sensitivity to confidential information.

Summary

All successful candidates must:

  1. Be proficient in English, both verbally and written
  2. Have experience as requested in the job description above
  3. Undergo and successfully pass the following pre-employment testing:
    • Breath Alcohol Test
    • Urine Drug Test

All successful candidates MUST provide the following items prior to confirmation of their start date:

  1. Copy of Valid Class 5 Driver’s License (position dependent)
  2. Copy of recent Driver’s Abstract (position dependent)
  3. VOID cheque/direct deposit form
