NACG is seeking a Technical Business Analyst lll to support our IT Team! This role serves as a key liaison between business units, Information Technology, and project stakeholders, ensuring alignment between business needs and JD Edwards system capabilities. The Technical Business Analyst works closely with cross-functional teams to define, prioritize, and deliver solutions that support operational efficiency and strategic objectives.

 

As a customer-focused team member, the role is responsible for managing and delivering on service requests, incident resolution, and project initiatives. This includes ensuring work is clearly defined, appropriately prioritized, and executed in a way that meets stakeholder expectations and business requirements.

 

The position requires strong collaboration with internal teams, external partners, and vendors, with a focus on delivering high-quality, reliable, and scalable ERP solutions.

Responsibilities

Specific Accountabilities:

 

Business Analysis & Continuous Improvement

  • Elicit, analyze, and document business requirements, translating them into scalable ERP solutions within the JD Edwards environment.
  • Proactively identify process gaps, inefficiencies, and unarticulated business needs, and recommend data-driven improvements.
  • Partner with stakeholders to evaluate change impacts and support successful adoption of new processes and system enhancements.
  • Continuously expand functional and technical knowledge to stay aligned with evolving business needs and ERP capabilities.
  • Troubleshoot issues using a structured approach, leveraging vendor support, internal collaboration, and research to drive resolution.

 

Systems & Technical Analysis

  • Analyze and interpret JD Edwards configurations, customizations, and code to understand business logic and diagnose issues.
  • Translate technical concepts into clear, business-friendly insights to support decision-making.
  • Maintain a strong understanding of application architecture, data structures, and integrations, and communicate their impact on business processes.
  • Evaluate system design and enhancements against industry best practices and organizational requirements.
  • Support data analysis, SQL querying, and validation activities to ensure data integrity and accuracy.

 

 Stakeholder Engagement & Communication

  • Communicate complex technical and business concepts effectively to diverse audiences, both verbally and in writing.
  • Act as a liaison between business units, IT teams, and external vendors.
  • Facilitate workshops, requirements sessions, and solution reviews to drive alignment and engagement.
  • Prepare and maintain high-quality documentation, including business requirements, functional specifications, process flows, and project artifacts.
  • Contribute to governance processes through clear and professional communication and documentation.

 

Quality Assurance & Governance

  • Manage and prioritize work through IT service management (ITSM) tools (e.g., ticketing systems), ensuring timely resolution of incidents and requests.
  • Adhere to change management and release processes for system updates, enhancements, and fixes.
  • Ensure solutions are fully tested, validated, and meet business requirements before deployment.
  • Perform root cause analysis and implement preventive measures to reduce recurring issues.
  • Support audit and compliance activities by maintaining proper documentation and adhering to internal controls.
  • Promote knowledge sharing through documentation and cross-team collaboration.

 

Project Delivery & Support

  • Participate in and support all phases of the system development lifecycle (SDLC), including planning, design, testing, deployment, and post-implementation support.
  • Manage multiple priorities in a dynamic environment while maintaining strong stakeholder relationships.
  • Apply structured problem-solving and risk mitigation techniques, including escalation and time-boxing.
  • Identify and manage risks related to scope, timelines, and resource constraints.
  • Contribute to project success by balancing business needs with technical feasibility and organizational priorities.

 

Qualifications

  • Ten years’ experience in a Business Analyst or related role.
  • Experience in JD Edwards (ERP system), reporting systems, Power Automate, Primavera and Hard Dollar (industrial projects systems).
  • Experience in the construction, industrial, or related sectors preferred.
  • Post-Secondary education in Business or Information Technology.
  • Strong written and verbal communication, including explaining technical concepts to non-technical audiences.
  • Excellent interpersonal and stakeholder management skills across all organizational levels.
  • Customer-focused mindset with a commitment to quality outcomes.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills for complex issues.
  • Ability to facilitate discussions and drive decisions in cross-functional teams.
  • Solid understanding of business processes and industry best practices.
  • Strong business and financial acumen, including process design.
  • Ability to align business needs with system capabilities.
  • Working knowledge of application development, system architecture, and databases.
  • Experience with ERP systems (preferably JD Edwards). Familiarity with SQL and data analysis.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to work independently.
  • Ability to deliver clear and effective presentations.
  • Professionalism and tact in sensitive situations.
  • Proactive and committed to continuous improvement.
