Position Scope

We are seeking a Heavy Equipment Operator to support our San Miguel Mine team south of Jourdanton, Texas by assuring mining equipment operates efficiently following all safety standards.

Responsibilities

  • Operate heavy equipment (Haul Trucks, Dozers, Blades) on mine roads and in pit areas. 
  • Observe all operation policies and procedures.
  • Report any potentially unsafe conditions. 
  • Partipate in safety procedures and Job Hazard Analysis of the working area. 
  • Perform Walk around inspection
  • Work in Outdoor settings

Qualifications

 

  • Three or more years related to Heavy Equipment Operation. 
  • Ability to set priorirtes which accurately reflect the relative importance of job responsibilities. 
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as manuals and labels. 
  • Ability to fill out paperwork associated with the operation of Heavy Equipment. 
  • Ability to work independently while understanding the neccessity for communicating and coordinating work efforts with other employeees. 
  • Ability to work 12-hour rotating shifts. 
  • Ability to be flexible, work as part of a team in a collaborative environment. 

Working Environment:

  • Ability to work in conditions common to a construction site including but not limited to rain, sleet, snow,dust, mud, heat, sun, cold.
  • Ability to work irregular hours, weekends.
  • Ability to work up to a 12-hour shift.
  • Outdoor open pit mine environment in ambient temperature. 

 

Physical Demands:

  • Ability to lift a maximum of 50 pounds or more.
  • Climb and maintain balance on formwork, steel framework, stairs, ladders and scaffolds.
  • Move in and around confined and cluttered places, and uneven Possess full range of motion and flexibility.
  • Frequently required to stand; walk; climb; sit; reach with hands and arms overhead and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.

Summary

All successful candidates must:

  1. Be proficient in English, both verbally and written
  2. Have a valid Driver’s License
  3. Have experience as requested as mentioned above
  4. Undergo and successfully pass the following testing:
    • Breath Alcohol Test
    • Urine Drug Test
    • Fitness-to-Work Assessment
    • Audiometric Testing
    • Vision Screening
    • Criminal Record Check
