    Position Scope

    Reporting directly to the Superintendent of Reliability, this position will be responsible for capturing and analysis of component failures, tracking of components costs to internal rates, monthly reports and component forecasting necessary to help manage the heavy equipment components daily, monthly, quarterly and annually. This position will also be responsible to assist with other maintenance analysis related to components, failure trending and recommendations on change out intervals.


    This position is located in our Acheson office located in the Acheson Industrial Area west of Edmonton.


    • Forecast annual component usage for Heavy equipment fleets with quarterly updates
    • Capitalized maintenance forecast, tracking in JDE and reporting for finance support and working closely with Fleet asset management
    • Maintain component data reports, eg: failure analysis, warranties, shortfall, costing, etc. that are currently established
    • Research and track component parts and labour actual costs and update internal rate tables annually where approved
    • Update work order bill of materials for components annually
    • Research and trend major component costs
    • Track, trend and make recommendations to component life cycles and costs
    • Assist with component failure analysis, track and trend, identifying areas for improvement and areas of loss
    • Weekly and Monthly reporting of Key Performance Indicator’s and status of projects to the Director, Equipment Maintenance.
    • Ensure accuracy of components for heavy equipment that are tracked in JDE with component asset numbers
    • Work closely with Long range planning on component change planning and shortfalls or extensions
    • Assist maintenance teams with research on components and requests for related information on components and change outs, etc.


    • Completion of Post-Secondary Education in Business or Engineering.
    • Minimum of 1 year of experience in business analytics, reporting or a related field (co-op background would be considered, along with other related work assignments).
    • Capable of both strategic and tactical thinking with a drive to meet quality, cost and schedule and reporting targets.

    • Basic knowledge of heavy equipment is an asset Mechanical aptitude is an asset.

    • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.

    • Excellent computer skills, working with JDE, Microsoft Excel, Word, Office and other programs.

    • Strong interpersonal skill set, will be working with various levels of management.

    • Ability to work under pressure and work thru complex or unusual situations EG: costing, data research, short time lines, etc.

    • Strong analytical skill set and quick learner.

    • Knowledge of basic Financial concepts.
